Queensland's mining equipment, technology and services (METS) sector leads the world in developing cost-effective technologies and services to meet the expanding needs of mining sector in Australia and overseas. Other jurisdictions seek our innovation in finding new ways of delivering better mining outcomes. So too with post-mining land use solutions.

With our pursuit of pilot sites under our Lighthouse Projects initiative we will establish a number of regional mine site locations where entrepreneurs from within and beyond the mining sector can pursue, prove and commercialise new technologies or uses for mining impacted land.

These may include new mineral extraction technologies that enables remining, new equipment that improves post mined land stability, new plant varieties, creative use of landforms for tourism, recreational and other non-mining sector uses.

The commercial demonstration (pilot) sites become powerful global marketing platforms for our METS companies.
