LHP2 kicked off last November and has since been funded in part by DSDI via the Regional Economic Futures Fund, $765,000.
Atop of that enviroMETS have successful met its budget commitment to secure an additional $140,000 cash and $135,000 in-kind from industry partners. In fact we exceeded $550,000 in total, which reflects the extent of regional interest in this project.
Recent work includes:
- In recent week’s we circulated within our board some notes on where enviroMETS goals align with the four ministers on the Resource Industry Cabinet Committee.
- Last weekend I shared an analysis internally, and within three senior SG people of the soon to be enacted US Good Samaritan Act, comparing it to Queensland, where there is a logical fit. We are pursuing a LHP1 Regulatory project with SG to provide a formal review via our ‘regulatory technical advisory group’.
- The second workshop, (a half day) was completed with our UK Land Trust colleagues on the detailing of their Social Value model. It was very good value and proved that it’s doable.
- We have also cracked through the balance of the first round of workshops on LHP2 Business Case and these summaries are in circulation. It involved 36 people across the subject matter expert groups.
- The quantification of the indigenous and cultural heritage has been contracted out to two groups.
- We are in discussion with a couple of BB mining operators re there mine sites as case studies. Yesterday we followed up via ReDO’s and councils for the nomination of sites for the March onsite sessions.
